LCDR Jasmine C. Bonner
Officer in Charge
A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Lieutenant Commander Bonner completed Basic Training in Great Lakes, Illinois and a four-week seamanship apprentice training school January in 2005.
Upon completion of Basic Training, LCDR Bonner reported to the USS Barry (DDG 52) in Norfolk, VA as an undesignated Seaman Recruit. She then transferred to FISC Jacksonville where she “struck” to become a storekeeper and completed her Associate in Arts degree at Florida State Community College Jacksonville. In November 2008, she transferred to ECRC San Diego and was forward deployed to Qatar and Pakistan where she served as the lead supply technician for the J4 Department of the US Embassy. In August 2009, she transferred to HSC 8 San Diego and completed her military service obligation.
In 2012, LCDR Bonner was accepted into the Navy Nurse Candidate Program and successfully completed her Bachelor of Science (Cum Laude) in Nursing from South University-Virginia Beach in December 2013. Upon graduation and commission, she reported to Naval Medical Center Portsmouth as a medical-surgical nurse serving on the Internal Medicine and Hematology-Oncology Unit. LCDR Bonner transferred to U.S. Naval Hospital Guantanamo Bay, Cuba where she served as a charge nurse for the Multi-Service Ward and the Chief Nursing Informatics Officer (CNIO).
As the first forensics telemedicine pilot in Navy Medicine, LCDR Bonner strengthened relationships with the Sexual Assault Forensics Examiner Director and Navy Medicine East Chief Medical Informatics Officer while providing standardized examiner competency evaluation and capabilities analysis. LCDR Bonner was also instrumental in the NavMed East GlobalMed Telehealth Cart roll out resulting in expeditious consult, treatment, and transport of critical patients.
LCDR Bonner transferred to Fort Belvoir Community Hospital, where she served as the ACNOIC, Medical-Surgical Inpatient Unit and Podiatry Clinic Manager and deployed on the USNS Comfort (Continuing Promise 2019) serving as Division Officer for a 40-bed Translator and Patient Escort Ward. Additionally, LCDR Bonner completed her Master of Science in Nursing Leadership and Management (Magna Cum Laude) from Walden University.
In October 2021, LCDR Bonner reported to Patuxent River, MD, where she served in a multitude of leadership roles, including Clinic Manager, Division Officer, and Chief Health Informatics Officer (CHIO). She successfully led the transition of MHS Genesis across four geographically dispersed clinics. LCDR Bonner currently serves as the Officer in Charge (OIC) of the Navy Detachment Clinic at Andrews Medical Group, where she is leading the integration of Navy and Air Force flight medicine services to deliver streamlined, joint-service care. Her personal awards include the Joint Service Commendation Medal, Navy and Marine Corps Commendation Medal, the Joint Service Achievement Medal, and various unit awards and citations.
